A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) DISTRICT FOUR LICENSE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) AND THE CITY OF COCONUT CREEK TO ALLOW FOR FDOT AND/OR THEIR CONTRACTOR TO ACCESS CITY-OWNED LAND TO COMPLETE SIDEWALK IMPROVEMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH THE COPANS ROAD MOBILITY PROJECT.

body

BACKGROUND:

As part of the Copans Road Mobility Project, FDOT has requested that the City execute this License Agreement that would allow FDOT to enter upon said City property located at 4800 West Copans Road, and illustrated in the exhibit, to perform additional work to include sidewalks located on City-owned land.  The proposed improvements include a small section of the proposed shared-use pathway that encroaches through the northwest corner of the City’s Government Center Complex property.

DISCUSSION:

As owner of the property, the City is not conveying any interest in the property to FDOT.  At the expense of FDOT, the License Agreement allows for the enhancement and betterment of the property to create a more aesthetically pleasing finished corridor completed in one construction sequence.
