BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek has a long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship, including the adoption and implementation of the City’s Green Plan and developing Climate Action Plan. The Green Plan includes a Community Outreach and Empowerment goal, which provides for the designation of a “Green Day,” which is now referred to as a “Sustainability Day.”
This year, in order to highlight both Earth Day on April 22 and the City’s Arbor Day Free Tree Giveaway event on April 29, the City designates April 17-23 as “City Sustainability Week 2023” in support of the City’s commitment to its sustainable culture and initiatives.
