A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE TOWNSHIP ESTATES COMMUNITY APPLICATION FOR MATCHING GRANT FUNDS FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT GRANT PROGRAM FOR SIGNAGE ENHANCEMENTS.

body

BACKGROUND:

The applicant, Township Estates Community, is requesting $5,000 in matching funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program is designed to provide funding assistance for projects that promote a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program guidelines identify signs as an eligible project. Sign projects are eligible to receive grant reimbursements up to $5,000. The Program has a $65,000 budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020. The Township Estates application is the second Neighborhood Enhancement Grant submitted of FY 2020.

DISCUSSION:

The City is committed to ensuring a high quality lifestyle and maintaining/increasing property values. The applicant is proposing to enhance the community by improving entrance signage for the neighborhood. Specifically, the enhancements include the design and installation of two entrance signs.  The proposed project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established in the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. It should be noted that the Township Community Master Association (TCMA), on behalf of the Township Estates Community, has agreed to provide the necessary matching funds and maintenance agreement for the project.
