A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE VICTORIA ISLES HOMEOWNERS ASSOCIATION, INC. APPLICATION FOR MATCHING FUNDS FROM THE NEIGHBORHOOD ENHANCEMENT GRANT PROGRAM FOR A MULTI-PHASE LANDSCAPE DESIGN PROJECT TO REDESIGN THE STREET TREE MASTER PLAN.

body
BACKGROUND:
The applicant, Victoria Isles Homeowners Association, is requesting $7,800 in matching grant funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The proposed project seeks to enhance the aesthetics and sustainability of the community by revising the street tree plan to include the "Right Tree, Right Place" principles. The project is eligible under the multi-phase design project category of the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program Guidelines. The Victoria Isles community is located west of Lyons Road, north of the Sawgrass Expressway. Access to the community is from Sawgrass Boulevard.

The City has been working with the applicant to address these issues. The applicant is procuring the design services of Craven Thompson & Associates, Inc. to review the current conditions and provide solutions through a new street tree master plan. This grant application is for Phase I (design) of the proposed project. The City anticipates receiving the Phase II (installation) application in FY22. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program has a $65,000 budget for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21). To date, $15,946.50 has been awarded through the program. Victoria Isl...
