A PRESENTATION AND STATUS UPDATE ON THE PROGRESS OF THE BROWARD COUNTY SOLID WASTE WORKING GROUP.

BACKGROUND:
The Broward County Solid Waste Working Group was established to address the current solid waste disposal issues in Broward County with the goal of developing a County-wide solid waste district. The group consists of two components, the Solid Waste Working Group (Decision Makers) made up of elected officials from various sized cities within Broward County along with one County elected official; and the Technical Advisory Committee (Advisors) made up of Public Works representatives from various cities within Broward County that have expertise in the solid waste industry.
This presentation will discuss the three (3) types of Districts (ILA, Dependent, and Independent) and seek to get consensus with regards to the City’s preference.
