BACKGROUND:
The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program is designed to provide funding assistance for projects that promote a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community. The Program has a $65,000 budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2017. Golden Raintree IV and Pond Apple IV are acting as co-applicants and requesting matching funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program to enhance the aesthetics of their residential communities.
DISCUSSION:
The City is committed to ensuring a high quality lifestyle and maintain/increasing property values. The co-applicants are proposing to enhance the community by improving landscaping and providing signage for the shared neighborhood entrance. Specifically, the enhancements include the planting of 445 native plants and the installation of a dual-sided entrance sign. The proposed project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established in the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The original grant submitted was a request for $11,683.50, or 50% of $23,367. After thorough review of the submission and bid totals, Golden Raintree IV is eligible for a revised amount of $10,145.59, and the revised project cost will be reflected as $20,291.18. If approved, Golden Raintree IV and Pond Apple IV would be the third Neighborhood Enhancement Grant in FY 2017. It should be noted that Golden Raintree IV has agreed to provide the necessary matching funds and maintenance agreement for the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this Resolution in the full amount of $10,145.59. The Resolution has been drafted to effectuate this recommendation.
