A REPORT ON THE DESIGN PROGRESS FOR THE NEW FIRE RESCUE STATION 113 AND FIRE ADMINISTRATION FACILITY.

body

BACKGROUND:

Fire Station 113 currently operates out of a temporary trailer located just south of Wiles Road and east of State Road 7. A new permanent fire station is needed to serve the upcoming MainStreet area.  Additionally, the City’s Fire Administration staff is currently working out of leased office space and needs a permanent facility. The City currently owns a vacant ten (10) acre parcel of land along Cullum Road, and the proposed building will be constructed on a portion of this land.

On August 28, 2025, the City Commission awarded a contract to Currie Sowards Aguila Architects, Inc. for the design of the Fire Station and Fire Administration facility. The design is progressing well and has reached the thirty percent (30%) completion milestone. Current estimates from Pirtle Construction Company, the Construction Manager at Risk, indicate the project remains within budget.
