BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek received a grant from the Broward Redevelopment Program (BRP) from which $640,000 was allocated for the redevelopment of the pedestrian area along the north side of Hillsboro Boulevard. This project will stretch from Lyons Road to NW 51 Terrace, approximately 2,700 Linear Feet, on the north side of Hillsboro Boulevard, including along Helene Klein Preserve and Saw Palmetto Natural Area. The improvements will include the construction of a multi-use pathway and landscape enhancements designed to restore the historic character of the area's preserved landscape. On January 25, 2024, through Resolution No. 2024-017, the City Commission provided support for the project and authorized the City Manager to proceed with the project and execute a Construction Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for certain improvements associated with the project.
DISCUSSION:
The City is committed to enhancing its multimodal infrastructure. The City successfully completed the design of this project and is currently planning to complete the construction phase by utilizing grant funds to help offset the overall project cost.

The bid closed on December 12, 2024, with only one (1) response from FG Construction, LLC, in the amount of $999,156.47. City staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid for compliance, and no issues were found. A ten percent (10%) contingency has been included in the budget to account for unfores...
