BACKGROUND:
Suicide is a national epidemic taking the lives of over 45,000 Americans each year. In the State of Florida, the number of suicides outnumbers the number of homicides.
The City wishes to recognize September as “Suicide Prevention Awareness Month” in support of community education and to raise awareness of the signs that may lead to suicide and actions that may prevent suicide.
