BACKGROUND:
The City is committed to protecting its residents and visitors and to the protection of property while creating a safe environment for all who live in, work in, or visit our community. The City is also committed to retaining a high-quality workforce and ensuring public safety. Utilizing Law Enforcement Trust Funds to help pay School Resource Officers (SROs) to provide safety and peace of mind for school staff, students, and their families, and AppArmor software, helps solidify these commitments.
DISCUSSION:
Please see the attached memo from Chief Albert Arenal to City Manager Karen Brooks, explaining the request to help pay for SRO salaries and AppArmor software.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
