BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Invitation for Bids (IFB) is to contract with a qualified and professional company to provide fireworks display services for the Butterfly Festival. The scope of services shall include timelines, product lists, appropriate plans, permits, and licenses associated with executing a fireworks display.
DISCUSSION:
On September 4, 2022, the City issued IFB No. 09-20-22-11 for fireworks display services for the annual Butterfly Festival. On September 20, 2022, the bids were publicly opened and three (3) bid responses were received from the following companies: 1) Starfire Corporation; 2) Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co.; and 3) Pyrotecnico Fireworks, Inc. The three (3) bid responses were reviewed and determined to be responsive and responsible. Staff is recommending award to the second lowest bidder, Zambelli Fireworks Manufacturing Co. as they proposed a greater quantity of fireworks displayed per dollars spent. The initial term of the agreement is for three (3) years with the option to renew for two (2) additional one (1) year periods.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
