BACKGROUND:
On March 15, 2020, the City issued Bid No. 04-15-20-11 to contract with a qualified General and/or Electrical Contractor to furnish and install replacement sports lighting at Sabal Pines Park. The project consists of removing an old and inefficient metal halide sport lighting system and replacing it with a new energy efficient L.E.D. sport lighting system. The City was successful in obtaining a Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant in the amount of $200,000 to partially fund these improvements.
DISCUSSION:
The City issued four hundred and nine (409) electronic invitations to bid for the Sabal Pines Park Sports Lighting Replacement project. Four (4) responsive submittals were received from the following contractors: 1) Imperial Electrical, Inc. ($344,900.00); 2) Electrical Contracting Service ($351,573.00); 3) Davco Electrical Contractors Corp. ($378,128.00); and 4) Kilowatt Electric Company ($390,000.00). Staff recommends awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, Imperial Electrical, Inc., for a total amount not to exceed $351,798.00, which is inclusive of a two percent (2%) contingency.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
