BACKGROUND:
On December 14, 2023, the Coconut Creek City Commission, through Resolution No. 2023-199, executed a grant agreement with the Florida Department of Commerce to partially fund improvements to Sunshine Drive Park in the amount of $315,000. Proposed improvements to the park include the creation of a recycled, rubber ADA-accessible walking path, playground, half-court basketball court, and outdoor exercise equipment.
DISCUSSION:
Unforeseen delays resulted in the project starting later than originally anticipated, which resulted in the need to request a time extension of the grant agreement. The State is granting the City a six (6) month extension with a new expiration date of December 31, 2025. It is in the best interest of the City to accept this grant time extension, which will allow the project to be completed prior to the grant expiration date.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
