A PROCLAMATION RECOGNIZING COCONUT CREEK RESIDENT FRANKLIN E. RENWICK, JR. FOR HIS EFFORTS TO HELP COCONUT CREEK YOUTH SUCCEED IN FINANCIAL LITERACY.

BACKGROUND:
Coconut Creek resident Franklin E. Renwick, Jr. became inspired to start writing children’s books because he saw a need for a book on financial literacy that would inspire children. Mr. Renwick has since authored two books: Fly’mingoo: The Adventures of Franklin the Flamingo and Fly’mingoo Banking: The Adventures of Franklin the Flamingo 2. Mr. Renwick’s goal as an author is to encourage parents to engage more in reading with their children, encourage children to DREAM big, and to motivate the community to understand the importance of early childhood literacy.
Mr. Renwick was privileged to have worked with F.B.I Special Agents Laura Schwartzenberger and Daniel Alfin, who were killed in the line of duty. He is dedicating this Proclamation to their honor for their hard work and sacrifice. We will remember them as dedicated public servants, proud parents, and cherished friends and colleagues.
