body

BACKGROUND:

The City Code of Ordinances, Chapter 2, “Administration,” Article X, “Underground Utility Trust Fund,” Section 2-703, “Authority to expend funds,” requires that a resolution, separate and apart from the annual budget process, must be approved to authorize expenditures from the Underground Utility Trust Fund. The City has successfully completed the undergrounding of the existing overhead power and communication lines along Lyons Road, starting from the Sawgrass Expressway south to Cullum Road and along Cullum Road from Lyons Road to State Road 7.  Undergrounding, along with the Florida Power & Light (FP&L) pole hardening project, has assisted in alleviating power service interruptions.

This resolution authorizes funds to be expended from the Underground Utility Trust Fund for expenditures from Account Number 3570539-6807, Underground Utility Trust Fund, for the design and construction associated with the undergrounding of all aerial facilities along Johnson Road between Lyons Road and State Road 7.

Funding for the above expenditures was previously provided for in the FY19 Budget Undergrounding Utility Trust Fund.
