BACKGROUND:

This year marks the 71^st anniversary of the National School Lunch Act, which makes it possible to serve nutritious meals at a low cost to millions of students nationwide.  In Broward County alone, the Food and Nutrition Services program serves more than 30 million healthy meals in county public schools each year to support student achievement and lifelong healthy life styles.

To recognize this significant event, National School Lunch Week will be celebrated October 9-13, 2017.
