BACKGROUND:
The City is committed to protecting its residents and visitors and to the protection of property while creating a safe environment for all who live in, work in, or visit our community. The purchase of all the above-referenced items will continue to enhance our high-quality workforce and ensure the public safety. The donation to the Police Explorer Post will assist the Explorers with training and purchasing new equipment and uniforms.
DISCUSSION:
The attached memo from Chief Albert Arenal to City Manager Karen Brooks explains the request to purchase special weapons and tactical gear in the amount of $59,300 and provide a donation to the Police Explorer Post in the amount of $10,000. Procurement of all items listed will be in accordance with the City’s Purchasing Policies and Procedures.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
