BACKGROUND:

The City is a participating jurisdiction of the Broward County HOME Consortium for the purpose of receiving federal grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the HOME Investment Partnership Program (HOME). The City entered into an agreement with the County for the disbursement of FY 2015-2016 funds on January 28, 2016, in the amount of $70,974.

DISCUSSION:

The FY 2015-2016 Interlocal Agreement with the County is set to expire on September 30, 2017, requiring all program funds to be expended. At this time, two home repair projects are under construction. These projects will expend the remaining funds. Completion of these projects is anticipated in October 2017.  Approval of this Resolution will extend the current Agreement to September 30, 2018, in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Agreement, providing time for the remaining home repair projects to be completed.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this Resolution.
