BACKGROUND:
During the Florida Law Enforcement Traffic Safety Challenge Awards Ceremony in Orlando, Florida on July 15, 2022, the Coconut Creek Police Department’s Traffic Services Unit won first place in Category 5, which is law enforcement agencies with between 101 to 200 sworn officers. This is the first time our Traffic Services unit has achieved a first place finish in the 22-year history of this initiative. The challenge measures annual reductions in traffic-related fatalities, injury crashes, and total crashes.
