BACKGROUND:

On June 3, 2020, the City issued Request for Proposals (“RFP”) No. 07-01-20-10, Sabal Pines Park Playground Design, Furnish, and Install.  The intent of the RFP was to secure a firm to provide all necessary drawings, labor, materials, and equipment necessary to design, construct, and install a new playground at Sabal Pines Park.

DISCUSSION:

Solicitations were electronically sent through the eBid system to 376 prospective vendors. Seven (7) responsive submittals were received. A selection committee consisting of Lou Italico, Public Works Project Manager; Wayne Tobey, Parks and Recreation Director; and Phil Randazzo, Parks Superintendent, evaluated the submittals based on the criteria listed in the RFP. The final ranking resulted in the following shortlist order: 1) Playpower LT Farmington, Inc. c/o Playworx Playsets, LLC, 2) Bliss Products and Services, Inc., and 3) Playmore Recreational Products and Services (Playmore West, Inc.).  The negotiation committee, made up of the aforementioned staff members, negotiated an agreement for a castle-themed playground with Playpower LT Farmington, Inc. c/o Playworx Playsets, LLC. in the amount of $260,000.  The project completion time for the playground is 120 calendar days from issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
