Currently, the City of Margate is contracted to provide fire and emergency medical services response and transport in the City of Coconut Creek. Coconut Creek residents are charged for an emergency medical services transport according to Margate’s fee schedule. The City of Coconut Creek will be providing fire and emergency medical services response and transport as Coconut Creek Fire Rescue as of October 1, 2021.

DISCUSSION:

Ordinance No. 2021-013 removed the current fire rescue service fees from the City’s Code of Ordinances and provided the authority to set them by resolution. This resolution establishes the fire rescue service fees, including emergency medical services transport fees.  The emergency medical services transport fees will be at the same rate as they are now. Residents will not be responsible for any residual charges above what their insurance agency remits for payment.
