BACKGROUND:
On June 15, 2021, the City of Fort Lauderdale adopted Resolution No. 21-118, naming the segment of Davie Boulevard between I-95 and US-441 “Rubin Stacy Memorial Boulevard” to memorialize Rubin Stacy and bring awareness and education to the injustice and negative impacts surrounding acts of lynching, racial injustice, and social inequity.
The City of Coconut Creek supports the efforts of the City of Fort Lauderdale to memorialize Mr. Stacy and encourage the search for truth and reconciliation that leads to real solutions to contemporary problems.
