BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek is requesting to join the American Association of Retired Persons’ (AARP) Age-Friendly Communities Network. The City has and will continue to promote the health and wellness for seniors and those of all ages. The City is committed to providing all residents the opportunity to live rewarding and productive lives and will utilize AARP’s Eight Domains of Livability in establishing a more age-friendly city; making outdoor spaces and buildings more senior friendly, increasing the accessibility and affordability of transportation and housing, increasing access and opportunities for social participation and inclusion through access to communication and information, and supporting the ability of older people to age in place through community support and health services.
