body

BACKGROUND:

The Fiscal Year 2022 (FY22) Operating and Capital Improvement Budget, which was approved by the City of Coconut Creek City Commission on September 23, 2021, through Ordinance No. 2021-024, included a project to replace the existing pedestrian lights along the Hilton Road Greenway. Staff has received a quote from an electrical services contractor who has an existing agreement with the City and is ready to proceed with the project following approval by the City Commission.

DISCUSSION:

The existing pedestrian lights along the Hilton Road Greenway have exceeded their useful life and are frequently in need of repair to keep them working. This project will consist of removing the existing pedestrian lights and replacing them with new, modern poles and fixtures that utilize LED bulbs. The LED lights will consume less energy than the current pedestrian lights and will support the key focus area of Sustainable Environment in Vision 2030, the City’s 10-year Strategic Plan.

Imperial Electric, Inc. was awarded a contract by the City as a vendor for electrical services through RFP No.12-05-18-10.  They provided a proposal in the amount of $191,106.80 for the purchase and installation of nineteen (19) replacement pedestrian lights along the Hilton Road Greenway.  The project will be completed within 120 days following Commission approval of this resolution and issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
