BACKGROUND:
Lieutenant Robert J. Wehmeyer has proudly served the Coconut Creek Police Department for 31 years.
Lieutenant Wehmeyer started his career in Coconut Creek as a Police Safety Dispatcher in 1987 where he gained invaluable knowledge of police operations. He continued his service as a Public Safety Officer and then Detective in the Criminal Investigations Division. In 1998, he was promoted to Sergeant in the Patrol Division, covering both day and night shift teams. In 2011, he was promoted to Lieutenant, supervising sergeants on his various teams. When circumstances warranted, he was also entrusted with the responsibility of acting captain.
We wish Rob a very happy retirement and thank him for his dedicated service to the City.
