BACKGROUND:
The City’s roadway and sidewalk infrastructure requires ongoing rehabilitation through the Comprehensive Street Improvements Program. The NW 74 Place Roadway and Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project will reconstruct the damaged and uplifted sidewalk and include milling and resurfacing, striping, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), and drainage improvements. Broward County approved Fiscal Year 2026 (FY26) surtax funding for the project’s design phase, identified as Surtax Project RMCOCO-002, pursuant to Resolution No. 2026-072.
DISCUSSION:
The City is committed to maintaining safe and reliable roadways and sidewalk infrastructure while addressing ongoing rehabilitation needs. To improve the condition of NW 74 Place, it is necessary to proceed with the design of the proposed roadway and sidewalk improvements. The City has an agreement with R.J. Behar & Company, Inc. to provide general professional engineering services pursuant to RFQ No. 07-29-25-11, and the firm has submitted a proposal, attached as Exhibit “B,” to provide the required design, permitting, and bidding services for a total fee of $29,953. In addition, a consultant agreement is required by Broward County for Surtax-funded projects, which is included as Exhibit “A.”

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
