BACKGROUND:
The intent of the RFP is to establish a contract for the provision of School Crossing Guard Services at various locations in the City of Coconut Creek. The awarded Contractor will be responsible for providing crossing guards at locations specified by the City and shall be completely responsible for the supervision of personnel in accordance with contract specifications and terms and conditions to fulfill the contract requirements.
DISCUSSION:
On May 17, 2015, the City issued eight (8) electronic invitations through the City’s eBid System. Five (5) proposals were received. One (1) proposal was determined to be nonresponsive. A selection committee consisting of Lt. Ryan Marken, Sgt. Christopher Beroldi, and Capt. Douglas Barclay was established to evaluate the four (4) responsive proposals. The firms were evaluated based on criteria including qualification and experience, resources and availability, past performance, and price. The Selection Committee ranked The Butler Group of South Florida d/b/a NEXTAFF, who also provides crossing guard services to Fort Lauderdale, Pompano Beach and Oakland Park, as their top choice. This three-year contract with two one-year renewal options will result in a savings of approximately $4,000 per year.
