BACKGROUND:
The applicant, Golden Raintree III Homeowners Association, is requesting $4,365.57 in matching grant funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The proposed project seeks to enhance the aesthetics and sustainability of the community by replacing existing post top lighting fixtures with led fixtures. The project is eligible under the beatification project category of the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program Guidelines. The Golden Raintree III community is located west of Lyons Road, north of Copans Road. Access to the community is from NW 30 Street.
DISCUSSION:
The City is committed to enhancing community aesthetics and promoting a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community; this grant project furthers this strategic initiative. The applicant is proposing to enhance the lighting throughout the entire community. Specifically, the project includes, the removal of 24 post top fixtures and the installation of 24 led post top fixtures. This project will improve energy efficiency and deter criminal activity in the community. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program has a $65,000 budget for Fiscal Year 2021 (FY21). To date, $23,746.50 has been awarded through the program. Golden Raintree III would be the fourth Neighborhood Enhancement Grant of FY21.This grant project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established by the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program.

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
