BACKGROUND:
The Broward County Multi-Agency Homeless Outreach Taskforce Mutual Aid Agreement (“Agreement”) provides for law enforcement agencies across Broward County to make more efficient use of their powers and resources by providing a higher quality of law enforcement services to the public through the coordination of existing Homeless Outreach Units.
DISCUSSION:
By entering into the Agreement, the participating agencies can undertake a strategic assessment as one Homeless Outreach Unit to respond to homeless issues. The Agreement will be in effect until December 31, 2023.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
