BACKGROUND:

The Lyons Creek Middle School Girls Floorball Team won this year’s Middle School Athletic Association (MSAA) Broward County Championship.  This was the first girl’s title in Lyons Creek Middle School’s 23-year history!  They went undefeated in the regular floorball season; beat Deerfield Beach in the quarter finals; beat the defending champions, Falcon Cove, in the semi-finals; and finally defeated Silver Lakes to win the County Championship.

Lyons Creek Middle School was also the 2022-2023 All Boys Sports Middle School County Champions.  Their golf, cross country, soccer, basketball, volleyball, flag football, track and field, and floorball teams achieved the highest number of points of any other middle school in the county and became the first school in County history to win this award without winning a County Championship.

Lyons Creek Middle School Athletic Director Ralph Rubiano was named the MSAA 2022-2023 Athletic Director of the Year.

Congratulations to Lyons Creek Middle School.  These student athletes and coaches exemplify outstanding teamwork and a commitment to excellence, and we wish them the best in their future endeavors.
