A MOTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO APPROVE P.L.A. ELECTRIC, INC. TO PURCHASE AND INSTALL NEW LED LUMINAIRES TO REPLACE THE EXISTING EXTERIOR SITE LIGHTING FIXTURES AT THE COMMUNITY CENTER.

BACKGROUND:
The existing exterior luminaires (light fixtures) at the Community Center have aged beyond their useful life, requiring costly repairs. In addition, the older style, non-LED (light-emitting diode) fixtures are getting more difficult to obtain as they are being phased out of production in favor of more energy efficient technologies.
The Fiscal Year 2024 (FY24) Operating and Capital Improvement Budget, approved by the City Commission on September 28, 2023, through Resolution No. 2023-020, included the replacement of these fixtures. The City has an existing agreement with P.L.A. Electric, Inc. for electrical services through IFB No. 12-13-23-11.

This project will also address any safety concerns of possible low light levels in the parking lot and pathways.
Additional areas, such as the front and rear walkway canopies, will have lights upgraded to LED fixtures, as well all of the outdoor amenity areas that have existing lighting, such as the band shell, pavilions, and restrooms.
A complete set of engineered plans, including photometric analysis, has been developed and is ready for permitting. The photometry study determined that lighting across the entire site will be improved with the installation of the new fixture...
