body

BACKGROUND:

In 2015, the City of Coconut Creek partnered with Broward County to execute an ILA for Naturescape Irrigation Services to provide mobile irrigation lab services. The City has been partnered under this ILA with Broward County since 2005. This agreement has been developed to implement the best management practices toward water conservation. Since inception, a multitude of participating communities have realized substantial water savings. The ILA was renewed in 2010. This resolution provides for a new five year agreement.

DISCUSSION:

The City is committed to promote green initiatives and customer service for its residents and businesses. This ILA provides mobile irrigation lab services to identify potential water savings and the best management practices. Regulatory programs such as Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs), the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES), Federal/State Numeric Nutrient Criteria, and utility consumptive use permits are focused on water conservation as a top priority. This mobile lab is an effective tool to achieve water conservation.
