A PRESENTATION OF THE BROWARD COUNTY TRANSIT PREMIUM MOBILITY PLAN.

BACKGROUND:
As part of the Broward County Penny for Transportation Surtax, Broward County Transit has been working on a major study to transform and significantly expand transit services in the County. This study is referred to as the Broward County Transit Premium Mobility Plan (PREMO). The plan calls for significant investment in transit, light rail and commuter rail, both in the short term and the long term.
Overall, staff is supportive of the plan; however, because of the future development in the MainStreet Project Area and the potential development of the Coconut Creek Seminole Casino, staff recommends that the plan be enhanced to provide for a future light rail corridor extending northward to Sample Road.
