BACKGROUND:

In 2012, the City of Coconut Creek and the Sheriff of Broward County (BSO) entered into an Interlocal Agreement (ILA) for the delivery of fire protection and emergency medical services by the City of Coconut Creek to the unincorporated areas of Hillsboro Pines and Hillsboro Ranches (Attachment “A”). The agreement was extended in 2015 (Attachment “B”) for an additional four (4) years.

DISCUSSION:

The attached proposed ILA (Attachment “C”) would provide for the continued delivery of fire protection and emergency medical services by the City of Coconut Creek until September 30, 2024, with four (4) one year extensions. Both BSO and the City of Coconut Creek are desirous of renewing this ILA.
