BACKGROUND:
The City has budgeted for the design of irrigation and landscape improvements for the Lyons Road medians between Coconut Creek Parkway and Atlantic Boulevard.
DISCUSSION:
The Lyons Road medians between Coconut Creek Parkway and Atlantic Boulevard are the last remaining segment of Lyons Road within the City to be improved. The irrigation system that was originally installed in these medians is at the end of its useful life, experiencing significant downtime, and requiring constant maintenance and repairs. In some areas, the flow is inadequate to provide complete coverage.
The design will provide for a more efficient system, reducing water consumption, and taking into account landscape and hardscape improvements, including future conversion to reclaimed water should it become available. KCI Technologies, Inc. is a qualified firm on the City’s approved Architecture, Landscape Architectural, and Urban Design Services list and has provided a proposal to perform the necessary design services in the amount of $79,920.

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
