BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek has historically designated a week to raise awareness and engage the community on the importance of environmental stewardship, sustainability, and long-term resilience. This year the City designates April 20-27, 2026, as “City Resiliency Week 2026” in recognition of Earth Day on April 22 and to showcase the City’s ongoing work across departments, including resiliency planning, mitigation, resilient development review, composting and waste reduction, public outreach through the Sustainability Series, support for the County’s drainage and stormwater resilience initiatives, and broader green and climate planning efforts.
