BACKGROUND:
“Choose Peace Week” is a collaborative effort led by the United Way of Broward County, the School Board of Broward County, and Children’s Services Council of Broward County to address the terrible reality of youth violence.
This year marks the 10th annual “Choose Peace Week,” which will be held the week of September 20-27. It mirrors the United Nations theme of “Climate Action For Peace,” drawing attention to the importance of shifting towards a cleaner, safer, and greener future as a way to protect and promote peace at home and in the world. The United Way and Broward County Library System will be promoting art projects during “Choose Peace Week” at local schools, and urging community members to wear green on Friday, September 20, which has been designated “Peace Across Broward Day = End Means to Earth.”
