BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek approved an agreement with Redemption Media Holdings (Media) on January 23, 2014 to design, print and mail the monthly magazine “Coconut Creek Life” at the cost of $.30 per magazine.
A first amendment to that agreement was passed on May 1, 2014 to provide for the printing and inclusion of the City’s Popular Annual Financial Report in the May’s issue of the magazine at a cost of $4,800.
DISCUSSION:
With the multi-family residential growth of the City and the City’s desire to have every residential unit receive the monthly magazine, we have requested that Media increase the number of copies printed and mailed by approximately 7,000 copies above the 23,000 copies per month originally anticipated in the agreement. In order to be profitable, Media has stated that it cannot provide the additional issues at $.30 per issue, but must charge their actual cost of printing and mailing of $.83 for any copies greater than 23,000. Additional clarifying information regarding magazine production and distribution has also been included in this proposed amendment.

Staff recommends approval of this item.
