BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek recognizes March 2026 as “Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month” to raise awareness about the increasing prevalence of colorectal cancer, encourage prevention, and honor those in the community who have been impacted by this disease.
Colorectal cancer is now the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths in the United States for men and women combined and is increasing at an alarming rate among young people, now the leading cause of cancer deaths for men and women under the age of 50.
