BACKGROUND:
On June 21, 2020, the City issued Bid No. 07-14-20-10 to contract with a qualified General Contractor to renovate the interior of the Rowe Community Center at Donaldson Park. The project consists of reconfiguring walls to improve functionality, as well as a complete renovation of the kitchen, flooring, ceiling, and lighting.
DISCUSSION:
The City issued four hundred and thirty nine (439) electronic invitations to bid for the Rowe Community Center Improvements project. Ten (10) responsive submittals were received from the following contractors: 1) Republic Construction Corp ($168,889.00); 2) GSD Contracting ($174,915.00); 3) Florida Palm Construction ($184,749.61); 4) RETCOM Construction, LLC ($185,000.00); 5) Bespoke Construction Management ($202,155.00); 6) Maceda Contractors, LLC ($208,000.00); 7) Cosugas, LLC ($215,167.00); 8) Big Dog Construction Services, Inc. ($245,335.18); 9) Max Tallent Construction ($263,772.19); and 10) Unicon Construction, Inc. ($278,300.00). After confirmation of references and past performance, staff recommends awarding the contract to the lowest responsive bidder, Republic Construction Corp, for a total amount not to exceed $185,777.90, which is inclusive of a ten percent (10%) contingency.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
