A MOTION TO REJECT BID NO. 06-22-16-11 FOR THE RENOVATION OF THE RECREATION COMPLEX LOCKER ROOMS.

BACKGROUND:
The purpose of the Invitation for Bid is to contract with a qualified, experienced, and licensed general contractor to renovate locker rooms within the City’s Recreation Complex. The proposed renovations include new fixtures, flooring, lockers, and reconfiguration of the stalls and shower areas to meet new ADA requirements. Additionally, two new rooms will be created from a portion of the locker rooms to meet the needs of the Parks and Recreation staff.
On May 22, 2016, the City issued an Invitation for Bid. A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting occurred on June 8, 2016, and the bid opening occurred on June 22, 2016. One hundred twenty-two (122) vendors were solicited, twelve (12) documents were downloaded, and two (2) responses were received. After review of the submittals, it was determined that both responding companies were non-responsive due to missing documentation.
DISCUSSION:
City staff believes it is in the City’s best interest for the City Commission to move to reject all bids pursuant to page B-8, paragraph 23 - Basis of Award of Bid No. 06-22-16-11. Staff intends to re-advertise the bid in the near future.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends the City Commission to reject Bid No. 06-22-16-11 and the two (2) non-responsive proposals received.
