BACKGROUND:

As part of the annual State Legislative process, the City applies for appropriations through the House and Senate each year.  One (1) of the City’s submitted projects, Wastewater Infrastructure Improvements, was selected to receive $75,000 through the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Grant Fund.

DISCUSSION:

This grant will help fund wastewater infrastructure improvements within the City’s service area.  It allows for flexibility in allocation and can be used for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP).  It is in the best interest of the City to accept this grant, which will help finance rehabilitation projects on a reimbursement basis.

RECOMMENDATION:

Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
