BACKGROUND:
Lieutenant Robert “Chris” Markland has proudly served the City of Coconut Creek for 31 years.
During his tenure, Lieutenant Markland has held the position of Public Safety Officer II; Corporal; Planning and Research Manager; Accreditation Project Manager; Training Officer; Defensive Tactics, Firearms, CPR, and ASP Baton Instructor; Certified Career Counselor; Certified Fitness Coordinator; Assistant Patrol Team Leader; Field Training Officer; Sergeant; Patrol Supervisor; Community Involvement Unit Supervisor; SWAT Team Executive Officer; Street Crimes Unit Supervisor; Training Unit Supervisor; Crisis Negotiations Team Member; Lieutenant; and Criminal Investigations Division Commander. His talents, expertise, and dedication are unparalleled and will truly be missed.
We wish Chris a very happy retirement and thank him for his dedicated service to the City.
