BACKGROUND:
On October 2, 2022, the City issued IFB No. 11-02-22-11 to contract with a qualified, experienced, and licensed contractor to perform the Parking Lot Milling and Resurfacing-ADA Improvements Project.
DISCUSSION:
Invitations were electronically sent to 326 prospective contractors. Five (5) solicitation documents were downloaded, and four (4) responsive bids were received from the following contractors: Heavy Civil, Inc. ($447,251.44); Weekley Asphalt Paving, Inc. ($453,730.31); Huurr Homes, LLC ($557,534.17); and UG Construction, LLC ($597,325.55).
Department staff reviewed the bid responses, and the lowest bid received from Heavy Civil, Inc. was $447,251.44, which is $247,251.44 above the budgeted project amount of $200,000. Staff recommends rejecting this bid solicitation and the bid responses received and proposes re-bidding this project at a later date.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this motion.
