BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek is committed to enhancing community aesthetics and promoting a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community by providing funding assistance through the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant (NEG) Program.
DISCUSSION:
For Fiscal Year 2025 (FY25), the NEG Program has a budget of $195,000 to support and fund neighborhood improvement projects. The Lucaya Village I Condominium Association is requesting $5,250.00 in matching grant funds from the NEG Program to enhance community safety and security. The total project cost is $10,500.00. According to program guidelines, the maximum reimbursement for security related projects is $10,000.
Some records associated related to security systems associated with this agenda item are exempt from public disclosure pursuant to Section 281.301, F.S. and Section 119.071(3)(a), F.S. so they are not made a part of this agenda item. However, City staff has reviewed all grant documents to ensure compliance with City requirements.
The Lucaya Village I Condominium Association application is the fourth NEG request of FY25. The FY25 NEG application cycle closes on July 31st. There are currently two pending NEG applications.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of this resolution.
