A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER, OR DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE THE ATTACHED SOLE SOURCE END USER LICENSE AGREEMENT WITH SCHOOL SAFETY GRANT, LLC FOR USE OF THE ACTIVE LAW ENFORCEMENT RESPONSE TECHNOLOGY (ALERT) SYSTEM SOFTWARE.
body
BACKGROUND:
The City was previously awarded the School Safety Grant in February 2020, which was used to purchase the Active Law Enforcement Response Technology (ALERT) system software and hardware. ALERT provides law enforcement with E-mapping, remote door access, real time videos, and PA system announcements during an in-progress incident. Schools, businesses, churches, and other entities can connect their security systems to the ALERT system.
DISCUSSION:
The ALERT system software and hardware was installed in the City’s Real Time Crime Center (RTCC), which provides the Police Department with a floor plan map of cameras in our City buildings and instant notification if an incident occurs. Then, using the cameras and floor plan maps, the RTCC can guide officers directly to the problem. This license agreement includes a five (5) year term to use the software, maintenance, as well as initial onboarding and training.
