BACKGROUND:
The City of Coconut Creek entered into an agreement with RedSpeed Florida, LCC on August 8, 2024, to provide for the use of Speed Detection Systems (SDS) within school zones in the City of Coconut Creek. On March 23, 2026, the City of Coconut Creek initiated its School Zone Safety Enforcement Program. Florida State Statute 316.0776(3)(c) requires each county or municipality operating one (1) or more school zone speed detection systems to do an annual report to the governing body.
