BACKGROUND:
The applicant, Winston Park Foundation, is requesting $20,000 in matching funds from the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program is designed to provide funding assistance for projects that promote a stronger, safer, and more sustainable community. The Program has a $65,000 budget for Fiscal Year (FY) 2020.
DISCUSSION:
The City is committed to stimulating and enhancing neighborhood vitality by addressing the concerns of our neighborhoods. The applicant is proposing to enhance the community by providing landscape enhancements along Hilton Road. Specifically, the enhancements include the installation of landscaping material totaling $74,927.00. The proposed project is a further enhancement of the community and satisfies the standards established in the Neighborhood Enhancement Grant Program. The Winston Park Foundation has agreed to provide the necessary matching funds and maintenance agreement for the project. If approved, the Winston Park Foundation would be the third Neighborhood Enhancement Grant for FY 2020. To date, $11,250 has been awarded through the program.
