BACKGROUND:
The Florida Mutual Aid Act, contained in Part I, Chapter 23, of the Florida Statutes, permits law enforcement agencies to provide voluntary cooperation and assistance of a routine law enforcement nature across jurisdictional boundaries by entering into a mutual aid agreement.
DISCUSSION:
The Multi-Agency Gang Task Force Agreement (“MAGTF Agreement”) provides for law enforcement agencies across Broward County to make more efficient use of their powers and resources by working together as one unit to deal with criminal street gangs and criminal organization enforcement activities across jurisdictional boundaries. The agreement provides for a five (5) year term expiring on April 30, 2024.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of the resolution.
