BACKGROUND:
Fire Station #113 currently operates out of a temporary trailer located just south of Wiles Road and east of State Road 7. A new permanent fire station is needed to serve the upcoming MainStreet Area. Additionally, the City's Fire Administration staff is currently working out of a leased office space and is in need of a permanent facility. The City currently owns a vacant ten (10) acre parcel of land along Cullum Road, and the proposed building will be constructed on a portion of this land.
DISCUSSION:
On December 15, 2024, the City issued Request for Qualifications (RFQ) No. 01-22-25-11 to contract with a qualified architectural firm to create construction-ready plans for a new fire station and administration building.
The City issued one hundred twenty-three (123) electronic invitations for the project. Twelve (12) responsive submittals were received from the following companies: (1) Alleguez Architecture, Inc.; (2) CPH Consulting, LLC; (3) CPZ Architects, Inc.; (4) Currie Sowards Aguila Architects, Inc.; (5) H2M Architects & Engineers, Inc.; (6) Netta Architects, LLC; (7) R.E. Chrisholm Architects, Inc.; (8) Saltz Michelson Architects, Inc.; (9) Walter Zackria Associates; (10) West Construction, Inc.; (11) WJ Architects; and (12) Zyscovich, LLC.
A selection committee consisting of Harry Mautte, Public Works Director; Brian Rosen, Public Works Assistant Director; Lizet Aguiar, Sustainable Development Assistant Director; and Todd Edge, Senior Project Manager, evaluated the submittals based upon the RFQ criteria.
